Effects of Pretilachor Pyribenzoxim Pollution on the Water Quality, Serum Biochemical Indices, and Behavioural Response of Oreochromis niloticus Juveniles

Aims: The effects of Pretilachor pyribenzoxim (PP) pollution on the water quality, serum biochemical indices, and behavioural response Oreochromis niloticus Juveniles were studied.
 Study Design: completely randomized design was used in this study.
 Place Duration Study: experiment carried out Central Laboratory Fisheries Aquaculture Department, Faculty Agriculture, Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko, Nigeria, between January March 2023.
 Methodology: 30 L non-chlorinated aerated rectangular plastic tanks (45cm x 30cm 30cm). 250 juveniles O. both sexes collected from Federal Technology, Akure, Ondo state acclimatized for 14days laboratory. During rearing period, fish fed coppen feed at 2% body weight. In a definitive test, group 10 specimen (11.3-17.5cm length 10.5-32.3g weight) treated random to nominal PP doses 0.0, 0.10, 0.125, 0.150, 0.175, 0.2 ml being diluted litres labelled T1. T2, T3, T4, T5 T6, respectively triplicate. LC50 PP, test water's physicochemical, responses indices determined.
 Results: dissolved oxygen depleted (P<0.05) compared T1 rest treatments. conductivity increases with an increased concentration contamination. total solids levels progressively increase concentration. T6 similar (P>0.05) T4 but lower than T2. treatments 2, 3, 4, 5 6 shows such as loss reflex, fin deformation, erratic swimming, air gulping, moulting. protein Serum creatinine level contamination 1 6. aspartate aminotransferase (AST) juvenile higher Alanine (ALT) significantly T1.
 Conclusion: exposure O.niloticus affected physicochemical properties water, behaviour biochemicals fish. Hence, leaching pp into bodies through Agricultural activities should be mornitored reduce lost which can lead economic detune.
